Outpatient therapy is for adults who require individual therapy or counseling one or more times per week. In contrast to PHP and IOP treatment, the only treatment format provided is one-on-one therapy. When an adult has successfully graduated from an Intensive Outpatient (IOP) program, Outpatient treatment (OP) is the natural final step in the treatment process.
Outpatient therapy is a form of mental health treatment that can be performed alongside daily life and schedule while living at home. Outpatient therapy is less immersive than IOP and PHP programs, and it can take longer to treat mental health conditions if you are only seeing your therapist once per week. OP level of care does not include psychiatric services, vital checks, bloodwork, or other services which can only be found when receiving IOP or PHP levels of care.
